PG&E Natural Gas

–  Eureka, California  –

The PG&E project, located in Eureka California, is a 166 megawatt natural gas fired power plant. The new facility will provide 40% more electricity using 33% less natural gas, with projected costs of 160 million, a 4 to 5 year pay-back and an operating life of 30 years. No water can be discharged on site, it all has to be contained either in a portable storage tank or water truck, etc. This includes draining systems during testing, repairs and/or additions, flushing of the underground and testing of the fire pumps. This is one of the many challenges unique to this project.
